Commercial Space Days is a two-day conference organised in Luzern by the Centre for Aviation and Space Competence at the University of St Gallen and the Swiss Aerospace Cluster in cooperation with ECSECO and the Swiss Space Office.

Programme
Over these two days, leading space companies will meet with key academics in economics, innovation management and business to discuss entrepreneurship and lessons learned from the space revolution of the last decade, and to provide inputs for the next era of space commercialisation. The conference highlight will be a panel discussion with leading innovation & space economists Mariana Mazzucato (UCL), Dominique Foray (EPFL), Vivianna Fang He (HSG) and Matthew Weinzierl (HBS). NASA Chief Economist Alexander MacDonald will join as a special guest.
In addition to speaker inputs and panel discussions, Commercial Space Days will host different forums dedicated to NewSpace, Careers, Commercial Space, Constellations, as well as Sustainability, Acceleration and Venture Capital. Academic Paper Sessions in Space Economy & Commerce will be complemented by a Science Fair for universities and student initiatives. Both days will offer a Business Zone in combination with the B2B Matchmaking Platform (b2match) for pre-arranged meetings.
The social program of Day 1 will feature a cocktail reception onboard the MS Diamant, including a Lake Cruise and transfer to Luzern’s Planetarium (Multi-Media Show) and Aerospace Exhibition Hall (Gala Dinner). Day 2 will conclude with a special keynote (tba) and the ECSECO Award ceremony. You can find the detailed programme on the conference website.
2023 ECSECO Paper Competition final
Another important event at the Commercial Space Days was the final of the first ever ECSECO Paper Competition. Five finalists presented their research papers in front of a jury. The winners and finalists were later announced at the main stage during the closing ceremony of the event. Find out more!
